Where to find stuff...

So many people ask us where to get things and what we used. So we thought it would be nice to create a section with the resources we've used. If you have a question for us, please contact us through our guestbook.

Epoxys, fiberglass mat, paints, wood etc:

Fiberglass services, Sarasota, Florida (www.fiberglassservices.com) We use the Ad-tech epoxy resins, also the white paint in the salon is an epoxy paint, called Dynapox.

For the outside we are using Sherwin Williams Marine paint (http://www2.sherwin-williams.com/im/marine/default.asp). We figured if it's good enough for the Coastguard and cruise ships, it's good enough for us.

A great source for woods like marine plywood, mahogany, teak etc. is Inter-city Lumber in Tampa (http://www.intercitylumber.com).

Rigging:

We got all our rigging from Seco South in St. Petersburg, Florida (http://www.secosouth.com). We used 1x19 stainless cables, Hayn mechanical fittings and Sta-set halyards. Their prices were the best, and such nice people to deal with.

All our deck hardware (clutches, blocks, traveller, boomvang etc.) is from Garhauer in California (http://www.garhauer.com).

We are told the best source for used and new sails is Atlantic Sailtraders in Sarasota, Florida (http://www.usedsails.com)

For our hardware we get everything, nuts, bolts, screws etc from Tri-City Bolt and Screw in St. Petersburg, Florida (http://www.tricitybolt.com) . For the price of 20 screws at the hardware store, you get a box of 100 at this place. They will also ship anywhere, so you don't even have to go there!

Electrical:

All our wiring, terminal strips etc is from Genuine Dealz (http://www.genuinedealz.com). Great prices and friendly service.

For LED reading lights, we can recommend the 'Sensi-bulbs' from http://www.sailorssolutions.com  It gives off soft light to read by, and a wide beam as well, with the benefit of drawing only 0.2 Amps.

Our solar regulator is from Blue Sky (www.blueskyenergyinc.com). It boosts your amps by 30%! We have the 2512ix charge controller and the IPN Pro-remote. It's excellent, we can see exactly what's happening. And for every 4 amps of solar, the gadget boosts it 1 extra amp. That's enough to run several LED's for 'free'!

Equipment:

We love the Portvisor we've just installed over our galley window. This keeps the rain out when cooking with the port open. You can get the portvisor here: http://www.seaworthygoods.com

We get a lot of equipment from Defender (http://www.defender.com) and many other chandleries on the internet.

For fabrics, zippers etc, we use Sailrite (http://www.sailrite.com).

For great prices on foam (for cushions etc) we have used Foam for You (http://www.foamforyou.com)

We are very happy with our Wi-fi equipment. We have a 12db antenna and an outdoor bridge antenna from Air 802. (www.air802.com). Excellent tech support and customer service.

Our refrigeration system is working very well, and we are pleased with it. It's from Frigogoat, www.frigoboat.com. The keelcooler we've added isn't hooked up yet, but we know of several people who have it and are extremely pleased with it.

If you have question, comments or anything else, please contact us through our guestbook. Thanks!
